Letter to a U.S. Congressman

Mr. [CONGRESS PERSON],

I am writing today to ask you to publicly denounce the hateful, hurtful,
devisive and calculated words that Karl Rove uttered against
Democrats and liberals in this nation that do not agree with him and
President Bush.

As Americans, we have a right and a duty to dissent when we feel that
the government does not represent our views. Mr. Rove's calculated
words today that

"liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and
wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for
our attackers"

and

"Al Jazeera now broadcasts the words of Senator
Durbin to the Mideast, certainly putting our troops in greater danger.
No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals"

stoop to the lowest of level using a terrible tragedy for political advantage and
insults fully half of our nation.

As my representative in the U.S. Congress, you must represent your
constituency. By failing to condemn the hateful and devisive language
of Mr. Rove, you alienate American patriots whose beliefs on how to
defeat terrorism differ from Mr. Rove's, but are no less real and no
less valid. By defending Mr. Rove, the White House has virtually
accused half of the nation of being traitors in league with murdering
terrorists.

Please join me in denouncing Mr. Rove and his supporters for his vile
and insulting sentiment. Please join me in unifying America rather
than trying to tear it apart. Please, [CONGRESS PERSON], call for Karl Rove
to apologize to this great nation, or ask him to resign his post as
Advisor to the President.
